Cartilaginous bronchi and membranous, terminal and respiratory
bronchioles and the cells that make up the bronchial epithelium:
ciliated columnar cells, goblet cells, reserve cells, Clara cells.
The glands in the submucosa of the large bronchi/bronchioles.
Connective tissue of the bronchi/bronchioles including the basement
membranes, hyaline cartilage, smooth muscle, elastic fibers.
The inflammatory cells surrounding the airways.
Pulmonary vasculature including large, medium and small arteries,
arterioles, capillaries and veins. Define the relationship of the
arteries to the airways.
The Respiratory Portion:
Alveolar ducts, alveolar sacs and the cells that make up the
alveolar wall: endothelium, type I and type II epithelium, alveolar
macrophages, interstitial cells.
Connective tissue of the alveolar walls including the basement
membranes.
Locate the capillaries in the alveolar wall and define their
relationship to the alveolar epithelium and alveolar space.
